LAKE FOREST TENNIS ASSOCIATION BOARD MEETING MINUTES
FEBRUARY 28, 2004

In attendance were Richard Hall, Karen Keenan, Beverly Fox, Mitch Davis, Mike Albrecht, Jerry Lindsey, Jack Carpenter and Al Peck. 

TREASURER'S REPORT

After the “Leap Year Social”, the balance is $322.79.
A check for $200.00 will be given to LFPOA.
$200 has been paid so far in 2004.
$1,100 was paid to LFPOA in 2003.
The remaining balance is $700.00.

FEBRUARY SOCIAL

*The “Leap Year Social” was held Saturday February 28^th, 2004.
*The time frame was 9:00 AM till Noon or so…
*It was a complete success!!!!!  A total of 30 people signed up and played.  A wonderful turn-out.
*We grilled outside and made all the players hungry with the smell of grilled hamburgers
*Thanks to Mitch Davis for acquiring the Gift Certificates.
*Thanks to Lake Forest Country Club for donating the burgers and buns.
*Thanks to all the members that participated in making the event a success.

MARCH SOCIAL

*The “Twilight Social” will be held Friday Night March 12^th, 2004.
*The time frame will be 7:00 PM till .…
*Members fee will be $5.00, with the proceeds to go toward improvement of the Tennis Club.
*Posters will be made by Gene Guy, and will be distributed.
*Light snacks and drinks will be provided.
*Tennis Balls – Karen Keenan will pick up tennis balls, sodas, plates, cups and snacks.
*Tournament Directors – Mike Albrecht, Karen Keenan.

FUTURE PLANNING

April 24^th – Member/Member, Member/Guest Tournament, Mike Albrecht is tournament director.

Possibly a two-day event with a dinner party on Saturday night.

Mitch Davis and Richard Hall to coordinate advertisement.

May 8^th - Century Tournament

No Date Yet - Battle of the Sexes

Attention will be given to the Men’s and Ladies Nights for participation, more phone calls or emails.

A sign up sheet has been placed on the Bulletin Board at the Club House, please add your email address.

The building of bleachers on the side of courts 3 and 4 for spectator seating was discussed.

BOARD MEETING

The next board meeting will be scheduled for March 21 2004 at 5:00 PM at the Lake Forest Yacht Club.  April 18, 2004 at 5:00 PM will be the next meeting, same place.
