GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT REPORT

Yes, it is that time of year for the winter grass to start transitioning back to our summer grass.  This winter we had a lot of stress put on our greens due to a lot of rain and even some cold weather.  We have experienced some winter-kill on some of our greens, tees and fairways but the spots are growing back in now.  I am confident we will be improved in 2 to 4 weeks.  I have asked two of my peers, one a soil specialist, one an agronomist, to come and take a look at the greens to see if there is anything I am missing.  We have come up with a plan that should help and we will be working on this next week.  In the meantime, we have to understand that we are a 30 plus year old course with no drainage and push up greens.  Please be assured we are doing everything possible daily to improve our golf course.
