The meeting was called to order by president Susan Green

In attendance were Lake Forest Tennis Association board members,
Steve Jernoid, acting general manager, and several tennis association
members.

Secretary Report- None

Treasure Report- We have approx $500 presently in the bank. The last
social brought in $36 before expenses. Still to be paid is John for the
burgers.

Susan has been to the bank with Al Peck and can now sign checks. She
will have to set a time to meet with Mitch so he can get on the
checking account so he can write checks.

New Business- Battle of the Sexes social is set for Nov. 12 at
5:00pm. Cost will be a cover dish. Susan Green will organize the event
and will get the balls. Bill Green will aid Mike in contacting people.

We need to renew our Ladies and Mens night. Men's night is going ok
but could use some help, but ladies night does not exist. We need to
develop some way to contact people to get them to play.
There are on going problems with the Ladies leagues. This has been an
on going problem. It was brought to the boards attention two years ago.
We tried to get a handle on it by requiring all league captains to give
all players a schedule of matches and equal playing time for team
members. This is still not being done. Instead of gaining new members,
we will be losing old ones. It was recommend for the Pro to take over
the league responsibilities as has been done in other clubs This has
been an on going problem that is not going away, only getting worse. We
have members sitting out of leagues due to lack of notification as to
when leagues form and  non- members and members of other clubs are
paying a $50 fee to play on our leagues while members of Lake Forest
Tennis sit out .
There was a discussion on what would solve the problem and it was
agreed that Mike should take over the organization of the leagues to
make sure all members,  as well as new members have an opportunity to
play in the BATA and the USTA leagues. We also need to change the
charge for non members to play in the leagues representing Lake Forest.
Presently the costs to play at Lake Forest for non residents is $50 per
league. This fee was put in several years ago when we were attempting
to attract new members plus we need people to fill up rosters for
league play.  We all agreed that we should only allow a person to play
one time in the leagues before joining our club. The person then could
decide to  join our fine tennis club if he or she enjoyed playing at
Lake Forest. We have the best and least costly tennis fee on the
eastern shore. We will need to recommend this change to the Lake Forest
Property Owners Association when they are  determing the cost of using
our aminities for 2006.

Since there was no more new business the meeting was adjourned. Next
meeting should be Nov 8. and an e-mail will be sent to confirm or
change the date.
